1855: Founded by H.J. GrayHenry John Gray was the World Rackets Champion in 1863. He founded Grays Rackets and a retail shop. He later expanded the brand into other sports, notably cricket and tennis. |

1941: Expansion by H.D and Alison GrayAlison and H.D. Gray took over the business and acquired several others including the world-renowned cricket bat business of L. J. Nicolls. This acquisition resulted in a renaming of the business to what you know today as Gray-Nicolls |
