SCOOP 50
50 YEARS ON FROM THE LAUNCH OF CRICKET'S MOST ICONIC BAT, GRAY-NICOLLS IS BRINGING BACK THE ICON.
The Scoop. The most iconic cricket bat of all time. Half a century after it was first used, the Scoop is back with a new run of bats.
Dreamed up in Gray-Nicolls' Robertsbridge factory in 1972 after meeting with two South African scientists, Grays patented the technology and made prototype bats that were used in England over two seasons
The bat was a global phenomenon, with cricketers around the world clamouring to use the new Scoop technology, which increased perimeter weighting by removing weight from the middle and redistributing it around the bat.
In the hands of Greg and Ian Chappell, Barry Richards, Clive Lloyd and many others, The Scoop's reputation grew as big name after big name used the bat on the grandest stage.
This season, we're bringing back cricket's most famous bat so a new generation can experience the Scoop for the first time.
Whether you are a cricket historian, or a modern player looking to benefit from the Scoop technology, the demand for the bats will be great.
