After weeks of build-up, we are delighted to finally reveal the brand new range for the 2027 from Gray-Nicolls. We’ve poured our heart and soul into this one, with wholesale changes in our collection to ensure cricketers are getting the abolute best we can offer. New bats, new families, a brand new concept and so much more; keep reading for the reveal!

New families!

We wave goodbye to Havoc and Imperia, who have served us so well over the past 12 months, with two ready made replacements:

Chaos

This is a bat with carnage at its heart. Shaped for a perfect pick-up and optimised hand speed, the Chaos is a bat for 360 hitting and going on the attack from ball one. With striking decals and bold colourways across the family, the bat will be used by Ben McKinney, Ollie Pope and Tawanda Muyeye.

Chaos also had to be the bat of the world’s best player, Harry Brook. For the second year, Harry gets his own bespoke colourway with the Chaos 317 coming in a distinct metallic blue.

For those looking for something even more daring, the Chaos 1.1 is presented in stunning pink; a standout colour for standout batters.

Softs to match

The Chaos family also boasts a beautiful soft range that sets of the collection perfectly. The top end Chaos 2000 gloves feature all the protection features you’d expect from an elite level batting glove from Gray-Nicolls, while the Chaos Pro pads will be used in Test cricket by Brook.

There are price point options all the way down the range, so no matter your budget or playing level, you’ll be protected at the crease by Chaos.

Primus

Lead from the front with the new Primus by Gray-Nicolls. With a shape set up for front foot dominance, the Primus will be the bat of choice for Zak Crawley, Emilo Gay and David Bedingham in 2027. Featuring three colourways, the Primus is ready to take on all comers.

With low sweetspot and Powerbow-esque bow, this is a bit of a throwback shape, updated to suit the modern game. Coupled with stunning sticker design that emphasises the large swell and monster edges, the Primus is truly a bat that is here to be reckoned with.

The 1.1 comes in supreme metallic silver, while the Primus 1.3 in green will be the bat of choice of for Pakistan stars Shan Masood and Saud Shakeel.

Primus Protects

To match our bats, the Primus has a softs collection that will be the envy of batters everywhere. The Primus 1.0 1200 gloves have a classical feel with hybrid design that will stand up to the fastest bowlers in world cricket, while the Pro pads are as suited to a world cup final as they are a top club match.

With grades all the way down to entry level, Primus protection packs a punch at every price point.

Synergy

Welcome to a new era of bat making. With the MCC changing the laws on the use of lamination in adult recreational cricket, Gray-Nicolls launches its brand-new laminate concept bat, the Synergy.

Lamination is essentially the fusing together of two separate pieces of willow – the front and back – to form a cricket bat. Lamination allows us to use pieces of wood that would normally have gone to waste to create a high performing cricket bat.

This new concept has been heavily R&D’d and is now ready for you to add to your kit bag. The Synergy features an incredibly light pick-up and huge sweetspot, couple with subtle but stunning decals that leave a distinct and lasting impact.

Couple your Synergy bat with the beautiful Synergy 2500 batting gloves for maximum performance at the crease. This combinations evokes feelings of F1 racing cars with it’s colourway, finish and design – your batting will certainly be in to top gear with the Synergy.

Retro Bats

2027 sees the addition of two retro classics coming back into our range.

Dynadrive + Optimum

The first of these is the Dynadrive, with the same iconic dual scoops out of the back of the bat as they were in the 1980s.

Crafted with advanced weight distribution, the Dynadrive features two precision scoops on the back of the blade, reducing excess weight while enhancing torsional stability through impact. This engineering allows the bat to feel incredibly light in the hands without compromising its massive hitting profile.

Optimum

Step into modern performance with a bat shaped by tradition and refined for today’s game. The Optimum brings back the essence of classic design asthetics, re-engineered for power, precision, and control.

Inspired by the fearless strokeplay of the 90s and made famous by legends like the late, great Robin Smith, the Optimum is more than a bat—it’s a revival of aggressive, batting dominance with modern engineering.

And breathe! That was a whistle stop tour of the new families and standalone bats from our 2027 collection. We haven’t even touched on our new shoe, luggage or helmet yet! But for now, nearly 900 words in, we’ll let you digest this and get ready for the product to be ready to buy in November. Let us know what you think of the collection on our social channels; we are @graynics everywhere.
