Description

At Gray-Nicolls, we know that what counts most on the cricket field is performance. However, looking good while performing is crucial. We believe that looking the part – clean whites, pristine shoes – will help you fulfil your potential with a bat in your hand. If this sounds like you, you need to get your hands on the Powerbow6X 5 Star Lite.

We were delighted to keep the Powerbow in the range for another season after the success of the 6. The Powerbow6X continues in the vain of its predecessor, with a few upgrades to make it a force to be reckoned with in 2019.

As ever, the Powerbow6X 5 Star Lite will have a low middle, really assisting those that like to dominate from the front foot. However, the all-round power of the bat should accommodate all batsmen regardless of style.

A distinct feature of the Powerbow6X 5 Star Lite is the fantastic weightlessness that it possesses. Coming in as light as 2lb 4oz, but with a vast, low middle, we had to reduce the weight somewhere else. To achieve this, we feathered the toe, talking all load out of the very bottom of the bat, thus enabling the rest of the bat to keep its punch.

The Powerbow6X aesthetic takes inspiration from old Powerbow's and current design trends, straddling the boundary between our Classic and Test range. Vibrant volt green flashes lift the bat into 2019 and beyond, but are tempered by beautiful white and silver stickers that work their way down the spine and flare towards to the toe.

History will be made when England's record run scorer returns to his roots to use the Powerbow6X. Alastair Cook made his Test debut with the original Powerbow and made a century. Now, some 12,000 runs later, he's back with the Bow.

Following an exhaustive process of designing and refining with bat makers and pro players such as Karun Nair of India, we are delighted to bring you the Powerbow6X.

Made from English willow, grown and felled around Robertsbridge, East Sussex, every Powerbow6X cricket bat will be quality checked by our bat pickers in the bat cave before making its way to you.

Bat size is based on the height of the player. Take a look at our handy Size Guide to see which bat size you should choose.

Common Questions

How do I care for my bat?

We recommend knocking your cricket bat in before use. You may also want to add a layer of linseed oil. Store your bat in a dry place when not in use.

How do I knock my bat in?

Using an old ball in a sock or a Deluxe Bat Mallet, hit the face of your cricket bat to condition the wood. You can also hit the edges of the bat with glancing blows, and gently hit the toe. You do not need to knock in the splice (top) of the bat.

What size bat do I need?

Please refer to our bat size guide to determine the size of the bat you require.

What weight do I need?

The weight of your bat will mostly be dependent on what size bat you have. A junior bat will weigh between 1lb 11oz and 2lb 6oz, whereas adult bats range from around 2lb7 oz to 2lb 12oz.
