Powerbow6X 5 Star Cricket Bat
There is only one cricket bat for the image-conscious cricketer. One cricket bat that perfectly represents the player that understands that on-field presentation goes a long way to on-field performance. One cricket bat that matches looks and performance equally. The one cricket bat is the Powerbow6X 5 Star.
In 2018, the Powerbow6 proved to be the most popular seller from our families, no mean feat given the popularity of the Kronus. We knew we had to keep the old favourite in the range while giving it a tweak or two to keep it relevant in the modern game.
The defining characteristic of the Powerbow6X, away from its incredible look, is its low middle. The low swell will make this an ideal bat for front foot batsmen, although we are confident the all-around power of the Powerbow6X 5 Star will appeal to all.
Given the bat's low middle, you might think a heavy, unbalanced pick-up could burden it. The new Powerbow6X has a weightlessness that will leave you bewildered. The key? Our feathered toe takes all the weight out of the very bottom, making even the heaviest in the range feel like the lightest cricket bat ever. The pick-up is feather-light and the balance incredible.
In terms of aesthetics, we believe the Powerbow6X 5 Star is a bridge between the Classic and Test ranges that underpin our offering. There is a minimalism to the cricket bat that has been one of Gray-Nicolls calling cards over the years, while the colours and patterns that are introduced merely add depth to the bat. Minimal white and chrome run down the spine towards the toe, while flashes of volt green give life to this fantastic bat. The design is contemporary, but never abandons the look that has been cultivated by Gray-Nicolls over generations.
The original Powerbow bat was used in the Test debut of Alastair Cook. Then he scored a hundred in his first test. Now, 13 years later as England's record run scorer, Cook will be returning to Powerbow to use the 6X.
After months of consultation between bat makers, designers, and Test stars such as Karun Nair, we are proud to present the Powerbow6X.
Made from English willow, grown and felled around Robertsbridge, East Sussex, every Powerbow6X cricket bat will be quality checked by our bat pickers in the bat cave before making its way to you.

Bats Size Guide
Picking the right bat for you
When selecting a cricket bat, it's crucial that you pick one that is the correct size for the player. If it's too small or too big, batting will be uncomfortable and performance will be compromised.
Bat size is based on the height of the player. Take a look at our handy Size Guide to see which bat size you should choose.
SH = Short Handle
LH = Long Handle

How do I care for my bat?
We recommend knocking your cricket bat in before use. You should also add a layer of linseed oil if your bat does not come fitted with an Extratec sheet. Store your bat in a dry place when not in use.
See our blog on how to care for your new cricket bat including tips on adding linseed oil and replacing scuff sheets here.
How do I knock my bat in?
Using an old ball in a sock or a Deluxe Bat Mallet, hit the face of your cricket bat to condition the wood. You can also hit the edges of the bat with glancing blows, and gently hit the toe. You do not need to knock in the splice (top) of the bat.
What size bat do I need?
