Welcome To The New Season
We are absolutely delighted to welcome cricket fans around the world to the new season of cricket and the launch of the Gray-Nicolls 2020 range.
2019 was an historic year for cricket. England won their maiden 50 over Men’s Cricket World Cup, with stand-out performances from our ambassadors Jonny Bairstow and Chris Woakes. The final truly defied belief – being decided on boundaries scored after a tied super over.
Then there was The Ashes, which had feats of batting and bowling that took our breath away – be it Steve Smith’s herculean innings’, Ben Stokes’ one-man onslaught at Headingley, or Jofra Archer’s lightning-quick bowling. Australia retained the urn after a 2-2 draw in the series.
So, can 2020 keep pace? It’s got a good chance! The World Test Championship continues to develop with India setting the pace, while the T20 World Cup takes place in Australia in October. Can England do the limited overs double, or will another new name adorn the trophy? We also have the launch of The Hundred in England, a new franchise-based tournament that is sure to set pulses racing and grow the game’s audience.
At Gray-Nicolls we are hugely excited by our new product offering for the year. You might have seen across social media our new bat families – it’s always great to see a Powerbow in the range, and the yellow and red Inferno takes it back to the original iteration of the bat, as used by Alastair Cook and Andrew Strauss in 2005/06.
Meanwhile, the Oblivion Stealth offers a classy, powerful and destructive look with chrome and silver flashes. The Stealth has already proved popular with our ambassadors, with the likes of Sam Billings and Dom Sibley keen to get their hands on the bat as quickly as they could.
Perhaps our most exciting launch for 2020 is that of the new Off-Cut Collection. The batting gloves are made – as the name suggests – from the off-cut materials from other products on our factory floor. No two gloves will be the same, and we’ve created eye-catching, eco-friendly batting gloves that give you the same great Gray-Nicolls performance at a great price. Read more about the Off-Cuts here.
There’s so much new stuff to look at, we recommend hitting this link to see all the new products for 2020.
We can’t wait to get going this season – cricket is in a fantastic place and Gray-Nicolls is proud to be right at the heart of it.
