Double-sided bat makes successful debut in Adelaide
Date posted: 07/01/2009
With a Man-of-the-Match performance David Warner (NSW) punched out 65 runs (four sixes and\r\nseven fours) against the West End Redbacks in Adelaide last night. In the third over Warner hit\r\nShaun Tait onto the roof of the George Giffen Stand, proving that the Dual T20 bat has plenty of\r\nguts.
\r\nWarner swapped the Dual T20 halfway into his innings as he felt that it needed further knockingin,\r\nbut said that he was very happy with the bat and is looking forward to using it next against the\r\nPKF Tasmanian Tigers on 12 Jan in Sydney.
\r\nGRAY-NICOLLS uses a unique method of pressing the front and back of the Dual T20 at 5,500\r\nlbs of pressure per square inch, removing the need to carve away willow from the back of the bat.\r\nPressing the willow ensures strong rebound and no splitting, cracks or fractures from ball impact.
\r\nTo prevent Yorker damage commonly caused by Twenty20 bowlers, GRAY-NICOLLS raised the\r\nprofile in the toe of the bat.
\r\nThe Dual T20 has a weight range of 2.8 to 2.10 lbs and boasts a mammoth ‘phantom-like’ middle.
\r\nThe cricket bat conforms to the Laws of Cricket (Law 6) as set by rule makers Marylebone Cricket\r\nClub (MCC) and will be in retail stores from February 2009.
\r\nGRAY-NICOLLS Head Bat-maker Stuart Kranzbuhler is available for interviews.
\r\nOther cricketers to use the Dual T20:
\r\nMarcus North (WA) and Aiden Blizzard (VIC):
8 Jan 2009 VB Bushrangers v Retravision Warriors, MCG, VIC
George Bailey (TAS) and David Warner (NSW):
12 Jan 2009 PKF Tasmanian Tigers v RTA SpeedBlitz Blues, Sydney Olympic Park, NSW
